Today I got a chance to discuss my progress of medical tourism directory with Andy and Izak. It was a quick 15 minutes discussion. So I quickly went over all the figures and facts, and all seems well with Izak agreeing on the need and Andy think the numbers quite adds up as a business.

Then comes the bomb.

“Why you?”, Andy asked. “Are you a doctor?”, added Izak. I was lost on words. Err… No, I’m not a doctor. “You see, in the health industry, trust and credibility is very important. You are not a doctor. You are not a celebrity. Why should people trust you and your site?”. I don’t recall the exact words, but it’s really “Why you?”

Why me?

My time was up.

Next, Mandy presented what Izak described as best idea of the day. I couldn’t understand anything. I couldn’t hear anything.

I was angry. I was disappointed.

I took a long walk. Yeah it was still in the Plaza Senayan mall. The meeting was in Marche at 5th floor of Plaza Senayan. So I was walking from floor to floor, from top floor to ground floor, from one end to the other end, thinking, “Why it can’t be me?”.

I could just approach a few top doctors. I don’t believe I can’t find anyone that can endorse me or support the idea. Well, that would do it. Not a problem.

Why me? Because I can do it !

That should settle it. I went back to Marche, hoping that after their meeting with other Founders, I can catch either Andy, Izak or Novis for quick guide to some assignment problems.

Andy and Izak left early, no chance to ask questions. But I was lucky to talk with Novis to discuss the problems I had and review my business ideas. To be frank, it wasn’t really because I was lucky, it was more of because Novis is so kind and so helpful to offer advices even though it’s past Marche closing time.

Thanks, Novis. You are so super cool. Just in case you didn’t know that.

As I was on my way back home, on the back of an ojek, I pondered again. Why me?

Why me?

And I finally found the answer. With the cold night wind blowing against my face, I was enlightened.
