Checking Visit Time In Google Analytics

One feature that I certainly missed a lot from the old Google Analytics was the ability to check what time the visitors come. Such as what is the peak hour, what is the best time for maintenance downtime, and also very importantly – when my site is down unpectedly for one reason or another – to find out what time and how long was the downtime. So it was a real pity that Google took the feature away. So I thought.

Can’t recall exactly how long was the old Analytics replaced with the new Analytics already, if I’m not mistaken was like 2 years ago. By some sheer chance, I just find out that one of my favourite feature was indeed not removed and is still there.

If you are also looking for that feature, here it is:

From your Google Analytics Dashboard for the website you want to check, see the panel under “Site Usage”.

Dashboard - Google Analytics

Click the “Visits” link. Once opened, see the few small icons right below the date selection dropdown. Click on the clock icon. See right there the visits will be grouped by the hour.
