Firefox Add-Ons for Web Developers

I have been getting good feedback about the SEO Tools for Firefox posted few days ago. So I think might as well compile list of other useful Firefox tools for webmasters also. Here is the list of the webmaster tools:

1. Firebug
   Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.
2. Flagfox
   Displays a country flag depicting the location of the current website’s server and provides quick access to detailed location and webserver information.
3. Web Developer
   The Web Developer extension adds a menu and a toolbar with various web developer tools.
4. FireFTP
   FireFTP is a free, secure, cross-platform FTP client for Mozilla Firefox which provides easy and intuitive access to FTP servers.

5. FoxyProxy Standard
   FoxyProxy is an advanced proxy management tool that completely replaces Firefox’s limited proxying capabilities. It offers more features than SwitchProxy, ProxyButton, QuickProxy, xyzproxy, ProxyTex, TorButton, etc.

6. Stylish
   Restyle the web with Stylish, a user styles manager.
7. ImTranslator
   ImTranslator includes Online Translator in 1640 language combinations for Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese (Simp.), Chinese (trad.), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French, Galician.
8. FireShot
   FireShot is a Firefox extension that creates screenshots of web pages (entirely or just visible part). Unlike other extensions, this plugin provides a set of editing and annotation tools, which let users quickly modify web captures
9. Screengrab
   Screengrab saves webpages as images. It will capture what you can see in the window, the entire page, just a selection or a particular frame. Basically it saves webpages as images – either to a file, or to the clipboard.
10. User Agent Switcher
    The User Agent Switcher extension adds a menu and a toolbar button to switch the user agent of the browser.
11. ColorZilla
    Advanced Eyedropper, ColorPicker, Page Zoomer and other colorful goodies.
12. Tamper Data
    Use tamperdata to view and modify HTTP/HTTPS headers and post parameters.
13. RefControl
    Control what gets sent as the HTTP Referer on a per-site basis.
14. iMacros
    Automate Firefox. Record and replay repetitious work. If you love the Firefox web browser, but are tired of repetitive tasks like visiting the same sites every days, filling out forms, and remembering passwords, then iMacros for Firefox is the solution you’ve been dreaming of!
15. Coral IE Tab
    An enhanced version of IE Tab which enables you to use the embedded IE engine within tabs of Mozilla Firefox. It supports Adblock Plus in IE, and can sync cookies between IE and Firefox.
16. Live HTTP Headers
    View HTTP headers of a page while browsing.
17. Image Zoom
    Adds zoom functionality for images. Easily zoom in, zoom out, fit image to screen or set custom zoom on individual images within a web page. All this can be done by using the context menu or a combination of mouse buttons and scroll wheel. Handy to see the finer details of smaller pics or to make very large pics fit within your screen
18. YSlow
    YSlow analyzes web pages and why they’re slow based on Yahoo!’s rules for high performance web sites.
19. IE View
    Lets you load pages in IE with a single right-click, or mark certain sites to *always* load in IE.
20. MeasureIt
    Draw out a ruler to get the pixel width and height of any elements on a webpage.
21. ShowIP
    Show the IP address(es) of the current page in the status bar. It also allows querying custom information services by IP (right mouse button) and hostname (left mouse button), like whois, netcraft. Additionally you can copy the IP address to the clipboard.
22. Ghostery
    Protect your privacy. See who’s tracking your web browsing and block them with Ghostery.
23. Picnik
    Add a menu options and a toolbar icon to make importing images into Picnik easier.
24. Java Console
    Java Console Extension for Java SE 1.6.0_02 (version 6 update 2).
25. JavaScript Debugger
    Venkman is the code name for Mozilla’s JavaScript Debugger. Venkman aims to provide a powerful JavaScript debugging environment for Mozilla based browsers.
26. CacheViewer
    This extension is GUI Front-end of “about:cache”. Allows searching and sorting memory and disk cache files.
27. Html Validator
    HTML Validator is a Mozilla extension that adds HTML validation inside Firefox and Mozilla. The number of errors of a HTML page is seen on the form of an icon in the status bar when browsing.
28. QuickJava
    Allows quick enable and disable of Java and Javascript from the status bar.
29. Extended Statusbar
    A Statusbar with speed, percentage, time and loaded size (similar to Opera’s one)
30. Linkification
    Converts text links into genuine, clickable links.
31. SeoQuake
    Seoquake is a Mozilla Firefox SEO extension aimed primarily at helping web masters who deal with search engine optimization (SEO) and internet promotion of web sites. Seoquake allows to obtain and investigate many important SEO parameters of the internet project under study on the fly, save them for future work, compare them with the results, obtained for other, competitive, projects.
32. SQLite Manager
    Manage any SQLite database on your computer.
33. DOM Inspector
    DOM Inspector is a tool that can be used to inspect and edit the live DOM of any web document or XUL application. The DOM hierarchy can be navigated using a two-paned window that allows for a variety of different views on the documents.
34. Autofill Forms
    Autofill Forms enables you to fill out web forms with one click or a keyboard shortcut.
35. Privacy +
    Better Protection. Did you know that web sites use Flash to track you with Flash based cookies? Privacy Plus will add a simple checkbox in the [Clear Recent History] dialog that will allow you to delete these cookies (Flash LSO)
36. Subtile
    Subtile is a highly customizable extension to allow people without mozilla development knowledge to create their own (sub)extension, limited to a menu attached to a toolbar button.
37. Pearl Crescent Page Saver Basic
    Save an image of a web page (including Flash content) to a file. Web page screenshots may be captured interactively or from the command line. Options allow you to control the output format (PNG or JPEG), image file name, scaling.
38. Add N Edit Cookies
    Cookie Editor that allows you add and edit “session” and saved.
39. HttpFox
    An HTTP analyzer addon for Firefox
40. Gspace
    This extension allows you to use your Gmail Space for file storage. It acts as an online drive, so you can upload files from your hard drive and access them from every Internet capable system.
41. Firecookie
    Firecookie is an extension for Firebug that makes possible to view and manage cookies in your browser
42. CodeBurner
    CodeBurner is a Firefox add-on that integrates with Firebug, to extend it with reference material for HTML and CSS.
43. FirePHP
    FirePHP enables you to log to your Firebug Console using a simple PHP method call. You must have Firebug installed and the “Net” panel enabled to use this extension
44. Pixel Perfect
    Pixel Perfect is a Firefox/Firebug extension that allows web developers and designers to easily overlay a web composition over top of the developed HTML.
45. Quick Locale Switcher
    Allows you to quickly switch to a different language (User Interface, Spell Checker Dictionary and Website content) in your Mozilla application.
46. Clear Cache Button
    Adds a clear cache toolbar button. After installing the extension, find the clear cache button in the toolbar customization.
47. Locationbar²
    Puts emphasis on the domain to reduce spoofing risk and linkifies URL segments (press Ctrl, Meta, Shift or Alt)
48. IE View Lite
    This is a cut down version of IE View by Paul Roub, which is 47.4 KB. All the same UI and features are there. It has a right click menu item to open a page in IE and a list of sites to always open in IE. It can close tabs automatically
49. CSS Usage
    Firebug extension to view which CSS rules are actually used.
50. GBookmarks (Google Bookmarks for Firefox)

53. Selenium IDE
    Is an integrated development environment for Selenium tests. It is implemented as a Firefox extension, and allows you to record, edit, and debug tests. Selenium IDE includes the entire Selenium Core
54. Mason
    This extension can simplify the rule to just specify the URI and Content type and can enable/disable each rule separately. What’s more, it can customize the web pages by user scripts which is similar to Grease Monkey.
55. View Cookies
    It adds a tab to the Page Info dialog box, which shows the cookies belonging to the current page.
56. Window Resizer
    Resize your browser to various standard resolution sizes.
57. HackBar
    Simple security audit / Penetration test tool.
58. JavaScript Deobfuscator
    This add-on will show you what JavaScript gets to run on a web page, even if it is obfuscated and generated on the fly. Simply open JavaScript Deobfuscator from the Tools menu and watch the scripts being compiled/executed.

63. RightToClick
    Stops Javascript annoyances such as forbidden right click, forbidden text selection or cascading dialog boxes.
64. Total Validator
    Perform multiple validations and take screen shots in one go. This 5-in-1 validator works with external, internal, or local web pages using the Total Validator service or local copy of the desktop tool.
65. Firefinder for Firebug
    Finds HTML elements matching chosen CSS selector(s) or XPath expression
66. Capture Fox
    You can capture your screen and record your voice to make screencasts (tutorials, e-lessons, etc.).
67. Inline Code Finder for Firebug
    Inline Code Finder is an add-on to Firebug, to be able to find HTML elements with any of the below issues: * Inline JavaScript events * Inline style * javascript: links
68. Multi Links
    Multi Links lets you open, copy or bookmark multiple links at the same time rather than having to do them all individually.
69. XHTML Mobile Profile
    Firefox does not natively support the mime-type application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml. This is one of the possible mime-types for XHTML Mobile Profile. This extension adds support for this mime-type.
70. JSView
    All browsers include a “View Source” option, but none of them offer the ability to view the source code of external files. Most websites store their javascripts and style sheets in external files and then link to them within a web.

    SenSEO is an extension checking the most important on-page-SEO-criteria and calculating a grade of how good your site fulfills these criteria.

    Saves a webpage completely, providing a better alternative to the flawed built-in save functionality of Firefox.
86. Aardvark
    Powerful and user-friendly selector utility for selecting elements and doing various actions on them. It can be used for cleaning up a page prior to printing it (by removing and isolating elements), and for web development
87. CoLT
    CoLT makes it easy to copy either a hyperlink’s text or both the link and the link’s text (in a format you specify). Two handy context-menu items make this possible, and don’t add clutter.
88. Xdebug Helper
    Tool to start/stop debug and profiling with PHP’s Xdebug.

    Copies the name (source anchor) of a link. Just a small extension that adds a context menu item to copy a link’s source anchor name.
99. URL Link
    URL Link is a small Firefox and Thunderbird extension that allows you to select a non-URL in a mail/news message or web-page, and open it in a browser window.
100. Copy Plain Text
     Copies text without formatting.
