Also, can you help me fix this problem? When I search for my blog posts in Google, I don’t get the first sentence or two of the blog post. I get my tagline. Here’s an example:

Are You a Toxic Female Friend? – George Eliot | See Jane Soar!Life Lessons Inspired by Quotations From Successful Women.
seejanesoar.theadventurouswriter.com/are-you-a-toxic-female-friend-george-eliot/ – Cached – Similar -

The “Life Lessons Inspired by Quotations From Successful Women” is my tagline, not the first line of my article.

I do have the All in One SEO plugin, and I insert my first sentence in the form provided. My other websites do show the first sentence…any idea why this one doesn’t?

Here is the original layout before optimization

and this is our suggestions:

Hi Laurie,

I see that you put your best ads position for BlogHer. Do they have better pay rate or is there other personal reasons? You may consider swapping the left skyscraper or right medium rectangle to Adsense (currently showing Lis Logelin) .

One of the easiest way to optimize Adsense earning is by using link units. Link units help you make the most out of limited space. It takes very little space yet can offer significant part of your earning.

My suggestions:

1. Swap the order of blocks on your blog right-sidebar, so it should be in order of Subscribe – Adsense – Other Entries – Recent Article – Blogher – Recent Comments.
2. Change Adsense block above to match the color of the sidebar (similar color with Recent Articles)
   
3. Change the Adsense block within your post to Large Rectangle. Depending on how aggressive you want, you can place your ads either just after the title (aggressive) or after 2-3 paragraph (moderate)
   
4. Add Link Unit just above Categories navigation-bar
   
5. Change Adsense default font face to “Large”. You can do that in “My Account” -> “Account Setting” -> “Ad Display Preference”.
   

So after optimization, the webpage layout should look like this:

Regarding the Google search result, what happen is that you have double meta-description in your one page: one is from the All In One SEO plugin, and I believe the other is coded in your theme.


You will need to remove the meta-description from your theme script.
