7 Steps To Start A Community Forum

1. Define your niche
   Choose a main topic, preferably something that you understand well and passionate about.
2. Get a domain name
   Domain name is the address of your website. For example, cheatad.com is a domain name.
3. Get a web hosting
   Web Server/ web hosting is where your website files are placed. They don’t just fly around in the Internet, you know.
4. Install bulletin board software
   You can choose from a number of bulletin board software available, including phpbb or vbulletin.
5. Define categories & forums
   After installation, you need to create the categories of user postings. It will be a breakdown, sub-forum within your chosen niche.
6. Populate your forums
   At this stage, your forum site is ready. However, to get visitors interested, you probably need to make impressions that your site is a busy forum. One way to achieve this is by creating multiple user accounts and posting topics, with the fake accounts replying to each other.
7. Marketing
   Now, let the world know about your forum. Search engine optimization is essential, as much as asking people to visit the forum, either personally or via social media.
