Google Adsense Optimization Request
by Fernando Hal (cheatad.com)

Few years back, when I just started on Google Adsense, I received a mail from Adsense team, offering free service to optimize Adsense. I believe many old-timers received the same email also.

AdSense Optimization Invitation

Our goal is to work closely with interested publishers to apply our best practices and implement optimized layouts for your pages. These techniques have proven to deliver increased revenue for both you and Google, while providing a better user experience for your visitors. I’d like to invite you into this program.

As part of the Optimization program, you’ll gain access to an optimization specialist who will review your site to create and provide an optimized site layout. In order to participate in this program, we ask only that you work with us to find ways to improve your site and implement changes in a timely manner. In so doing, you’ll help us gain insight into how we can make AdSense more effective.

If you’re interested in participating in this program, please reply to this email so that I can begin creating a new Google ad layout for your site. As this program is only available by invitation to a limited number of publishers, we ask that you please refrain from sharing this information with the media or with other AdSense publishers.

Unfortunately, Google Adsense team does not provide this Adsense Optimization service anymore. Maybe they do only for select few major publishers, but I believe many of you, just like myself, does not have this privilege.

I understand that many Adsense publishers, new and old alike, are having difficulties in understanding Google Adsense programme and optimizing their earning. I have even received many Adsense optimization request of their website or blog.

Thus, as someone with a little more experience, I would like to help fellow publishers and bloggers by offering Adsense optimization review, free of charge.

All you need to do is submit your request in the comment below, make sure to mention your website URL, and as much information as possible (niche, traffic source, monthly unique visitors, pageview per user, etc).

After I review your site, I will post the critiques and suggestions of your Adsense display in a blog post.

There is caveat, of course. Please note that I’m offering this help with Adsense optimization issues as a courtesy, thus your patience and understanding is appreciated. I can’t promise any timeline or even whether I get to reply to you. If you need more immediate help, you should consider hiring someone to do this for you.

It would be nice if you could provide me some optimization tips for my website ged-ged.com. I am receiving about 100 visitors/day, but the CTR is very low. Its in the education niche. any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Matt,
For your website ged-ged.com, my first suggestion is to remove all the mp3 download links from your footer. Also check the translated pages and repair the broken links. To improve your Adsense CTR, try changing the Title, Text and URL color of the ads to match the article color.

I’ll be really appreciated for your comments and suggestions regarding http://www.market4free.com

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi James,

What you have done well is matching the color of Adsense ads with your page color.

From my experience, skyscraper is rarely useful, getting only very little clicks. I’d suggest you remove the left skyscraper, both of them.

You might want to look at your Google Analytics also, check out what screen resolutions your visitors are using. Unless a majority have width of 1280, it’s better to fix your pagewidth to 1024 or make it flexible width.

Putting too much Adsense isn’t a good thing either. The bets happen is that you’ll get a lot of low value click. Limit your Adsense block to 2 or 3 max.

    My suggestions for Adsense placement:
    1. Put adsense link units (728×15 – 4 links) below “Post Free Classified Ads | Post Event | Post Image | More Free online advertising options >> ”

    2. Put a large rectangle (336×280) right after the header/navigation bar.
For example in page http://www.market4free.com/classifieds/xzclf/US/posts/Real-Estate/Apartment.html put it just below the date, position the Adsense block so that it is in line with the classified text, not with the image.

    3. Put a wide skyscraper 160×600 on the right hand sidebar, push down the “Category”

    4. Login to Google Adsense website, go to “My Account”, see “Ad Display Preference”, click Edit. Change Font Size to “Large”.

Try the placements and monitor it for 2 weeks. Let me know whether you see any improvement.

    Cheers,
    Fernando

    Hi,

Please do let me know how I can improve my site!
    http://seejanesoar.theadventurouswriter.com/

Also, can you help me fix this problem? When I search for my blog posts in Google, I don’t get the first sentence or two of the blog post. I get my tagline. Here’s an example:

Are You a Toxic Female Friend? – George Eliot | See Jane Soar!Life Lessons Inspired by Quotations From Successful Women.
    seejanesoar.theadventurouswriter.com/are-you-a-toxic-female-friend-george-eliot/ – Cached – Similar -

The “Life Lessons Inspired by Quotations From Successful Women” is my tagline, not the first line of my article.

I do have the All in One SEO plugin, and I insert my first sentence in the form provided. My other websites do show the first sentence…any idea why this one doesn’t?

    Thanks,
    Laurie

Hi, it would be great if you could help me out with my site. It’s a blog, so I don’t really have a niche. I receive about 100 visitors a day right now, sometimes more than that, as it’s a really new site. My CTR is very low. I get traffic from the blog frog , stumbleupon and a few other referrals. Thanks a lot for your help!

  8. Whitney says:

P.s. I don’t get any search engine traffic on my blog.

  9. Fernando Hal says:

    Hi Whitney,

Sorry a bit held up these 2 weeks. Will get to it in few days time.

  10. Whitney says:

    Ok thanks a lot!

  11. Fernando Hal says:

    Hi Whitney,

I’ve looked into http://whitneyb99.blogspot.com. To be frank, there isn’t much Adsense optimization to do for your blog. You’ll actually need search engine optimization much more than Adsense optimization.

Do check out this: some basic search engine optimization tips. http://www.cheatad.com/2006/07/17/search_engine-optimization/

From what I see in the stats counter, you have in average 20 visitors a day. As a general guideline, you’ll need at least 50 visitors a day to see some decent earning (e.g. $10 per month). When we are talking about non-niche blog such as yours, you’ll need to attract even more visitors.

You mentioned also that most of your blog visitors come from referrals such as blog frog and stumbleupon.

From my experience, referrals from such social networks rarely view more than one page, let alone clicking on PPC ads. They are among the savviest users of the Internet, and were affected by ads blindness much more than organic (search engine) visitors.

    My suggestion:
Learn more about search engine optimization and concentrate more on specific topics (even if you insist on keeping it as a personal blog)

  12. Whitney says:

Ok great thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it. I’ll look into what you suggested! Have a great day.

  13. Fernando Hal says:

    You’re most welcome, Whitney.
