In my own words: WordPress is a blogging software.

It is one of my favorite tools and software. It ranks right on top of the list, together with Google Analytics and Mozilla Firefox.

I have used WordPress to power a majority of my websites. The ease of installation, ease of use, search engine optimization, and powerful plug-ins are almost too good for the price you pay: it is FREE.
