Cheating Google is not possible. Better not to try these.
Google AdSense will be great on sites with good articles, etc..

Thanks for sharing, Wynne. It is interesting to hear from advertiser view. But I don't fully get what do you mean by CTR on Landing Page being less than 5%.

If I get it correctly, you are saying that you advertise via Google Adwords, then expecting your visitors to click at some advertisement in your site (Google Adsense or otherwise).

If that is the case, I don't really see anything amiss there. 5% CTR is quite high for my standard, and even more so when your site is popular and deemed authoritative.

Just my 2 cents.

You know what. I wish you were right. I wish that Google could catch these chumps. The internet is the new "Wild West". There are gun slingers , pirates, scammers, and spammers under every friggin rock.

Forget about doing legitimate business. These clowns want to profit at any cost, and your welfare means absolutely zero to them.

In some markets that I advertise in, there are certain channels that I cannot go near with a 10 foot poll for fear of getting slammed with fraudulent clicks. I know this because the traffic from those channels is ultra targetted, yet the CTR on my Landing Page is less than 5% (and my site is a fully developed authority site).

When I contact google about this, they send me a friggin thesis that some womble wrote back in the day discussing click fraud, or "invalid clicks" as they like to call it. Then they can tell me that I can block up to 10 IPs per campaign if I would like to. Woopie. That wont cover the several hundred IPs that these professional click frauders rotating on international server rings.

Google and Yahoo are in a bit of strife. They are far from the only game in town, and if they don't get their act sorted out they will find themselves lumbered with all the scammers and none of the legitimate advertisers that they are trying to keep.
